As I have listened to many, many people share their stories over the past few years, I’ve found that we all feel alienated from ourselves, from God, from and each other.. Many times, it’s very hard to imagine a ‘strong hand of love’ hiding anywhere near us, much less providing tangible care in our lives. And why doesn’t it make itself more apparent?

I am grateful to Mark Heard for telling his story, where he felt that love was actually nearer than he could think, imagine or feel. It wasn’t magical thinking like the tooth fairy or the Easter bunny, but something real and tangible-- despite the fact that it does seem hidden at times. I hope to continue live into that kind of revelation and deep knowing of love for myself.
